My Ky

I have come to the conclusion that I miss Kylee! I won't get to see her till Labor Day, and right now that seems like an eternity away! We have done everything together, we took our first steps together, we had our own baby language, we got in trouble together, we got baptized together, we had our big 16 together, we graduated together, and we always had each other through everything. Its weird not having her by my side. Granted, we have been at two different schools for the past year, but that weird feeling just doesn't go away... she's a part of me, in a way she's helped mold me into the person I have become! Its funny, because sometimes all I need is to just talk to her, even just knowing she's on the other end of the phone is like a warm hug sometimes!

We have shared so many moments:

-She's rocked me in her arms when I couldn't stop crying one night (this was when I was 17)

-She stayed home with me when I didn't want to go out to play

-She went shopping with me, even though when I went shopping I would always come home crying

-We have a special voice that we talk to each other in, that noone besides immediate family has ever heard me talk in

-We would swing on swings in the winter with our coats on and our hands freezing eating a frostee

-She would always invite me to come along with her friends... she was never embarrassed by me

-I would bring her jamba juices to her work and we would talk while she was on break

-At family parties... we were always the oldest, but never old enough to be with the "grown-ups" so we would sit and talk with each other, or find fun things to do with the little cousins

-We would stay up till two in the mornings on weekends watching Full House, Gilmore Girls, or a chick flik of some sort... Ky would always fall asleep

-We got to go to our first homecoming dance in the same group

-Ky was always scared that she would get kidnapped, and one night I tripped over a bag in the middle of our room and she thought I was trying to kidnap her...

-She body slammed me when Santa Clause was at our house (I think this was the first Time Dixon ever met my family, I was so embarrased)

-We have shared a room up until college, and every night we would talk and talk and talk and talk and the next day we would be so tired... but we never learned cuz every night we would talk and talk and talk and talk

-One time, the family all got in the car and drove over to the pool and I noticed Ky wasn't in the car but I didn't say anything, and I thought I was pretty funny. When we got to the pool and my dad noticed Ky wasn't there, we drove back and she was crying in the driveway... I felt so bad... I never did that ever again

-One Sunday me and Ky were playing with our new Razor scooter and she fell off and chipped her tooth... I got in trouble... everyone thought I pushed her down, but I promise I didn't

-I still to this day call her "my ky"

To sum it up, we've had some good times! She holds such a special place in my heart. Her testimony is rock solid and she is always trying to do her best and make everybody feel so special. She has such a sweet innocence about her, that most people will never have. She is a light to everyone and always has something to say that will lift and inspire them. She's one of my many heros... and I love her so!

Feet

For those of you who don't know, I have really bad feet... I mean they are cute on top, but thats all a disguise, cuz the bottom of my feet are bad... we're talkin cracked heels, blisters all over my toes, calluses all over my feet... I won't give you anymore of a visual! But anyways, it is because of this reason that I really am no the biggest fan of feet!
Dixon and I went to Vegas this past weekend for job stuff and his cousin Kadee's wedding (I'll tell you more about it later), but while we were there we made a visit to Bed Bath & Beyond because we got so many gift certificates there for our wedding we hardly know what to do ourselves. Dixon is very well aware that I am self-concious about my feet, and bless his heart, he doesn't make fun of me for it! So while there, I see this thing to call a Ped-Egg... its like a cheese grater for feet. I decided it couldn't hurt to try it, so I picked that up and got some good foot moisturizer and went on my way. I was hesitant at first to try out my new toy... I mean the cheese grater look was a little intimidating to my feet. So after taking a few long breaths, I tried it... and wow! On the back it said it does wonders, but wow, it did wonders to my feet!
All the calluses, roughs spots, dead skin, blisters, etc. are gone...leaving me with cute feet! It seriously is a miracle! so yes... its only 10 more days till the beach, and my cute toes are dying to walk on the sand!

One more month

I love the Olympics, especially the Summer version. On that note, only one more month until the opening ceremonies. Just like 2004, we will be able to watch them in the comfort of a condo at North Coast Village with Keith providing continuing commentary on each country as they enter. I think NBC has him on the payroll this year, since 2004 was so entertaining. The actual events start August 6, since soccer players feel they need more than a day off between games, that is when womens soccer starts. NBC released their coverage schedule today and it blows my mind how things can change in 4 years. They are showing 3,600 hours of coverage this year, more than all previous summer olympic years combined. Of that 3600, 2700 is live. They are using all of their channels, including, MSNBC, CNBC, Telemundo (will it be in english?), bravo, oxygen and a few specialty channels on cable and satellite that will be sport specific...like showing all soccer or basketball games. I will have to empty our tivo for that month, as most of the live coverage will occur during the day.

I know some dont share my love of the games, but watching an american stand on the top of the podium with the national anthem playing is an amazing experience. It gives me chills just thinking about it. I love my country so much! It brings me such pride to see members of our military bring out a massive American flag out, as we witnessed at the Stadium of Fire last week. Then to see families able to talk to their dads overseas was more than I could handle. To be able to represent your country whether playing games or protecting the principles that we believe in has to be such a great experience. I understand the olympics are supposed to stand for good sportsmanship and such, but the way the Chinese keep trying to regulate every little thing, I hope we open a can on them in every sport! If they want to be a superpower, they have to get through us, what a great way to start by having Lebron dunk of Yao! We know there is a higher power watching over us if our Table Tennis team can win a medal. That is like Moses parting the Red Sea.

A month from now, take some time to watch the Opening Ceremonies, even if you dont recognize the names of some of the countries. Maybe we will set up a webcast from the beach so everyone can experience Keiths analysis and thoughts about the athletes from Djibouti!

Happy Birthday Dixon

Happy Birthday Dixon!

Yesterday was Dixon's 22 birthday, and I was so excited to spend it with him! I think his work knew it was his special day because they gave him the day off (actually it was his time off for fourth of July)! He woke up and got to have his favorite breakfast: Frootloops with marshmallows... talk about sugar... maybe thats what makes him so sweet.. hehehe! We both have been wanting to go see Wall-E, so we went to that. Other than the lady in front of us that laughed like a hyena and was so loud we could barely hear the show, and the girl sitting next to her that kept dropping her phone, we thoroughly enjoyed the show. Its definately different, but I loved that there was hardly any dialog, because you got to really appreciate body language... and the dialog wasn't there to distract from the simple body language!

Its a family tradition in both our families to have the birthday person choose their favorite restraunt and all go out to dinner, so Dixon chose his favorite: Pizza Hut... thin crust style! I was pleased with his decision I might add! So we had a fun night eating pizza and watching season four of 24 (its so strangely addicting).

So those are the details, but another tradition from my family, is when its your birthday you tell the reasons you love that person, or your favorite memory you have with them, so I will continue that tradition by adding the things I love about Dixon (I have actually made a 3 page list of why I love him, and its still going, so these are just a small few)

1. I love his love for his Savior

2. I love that he has an oppinion about everything, but will listen to others oppinions as well

3. I love his laught... its contagious

4. I love that he is so patient with me, and with everything else that he does

5. I love that he loves me for me

One of my favorite memories with Dixon:

The first time I went to Las Vegas to stay with his family, we went to a magic show on the strip, but we were way early to it, so we walked around the mall, and ended up in an art gallery and we held hands and looked at each portraits taking guesses about what the painter was thinking while painting the portrait! Good Times, Good Times

Happy Birthday, I love you!

Hangin With the Fam

On Saturday, Dixon went golfing with my dad... he did really good, I was impressed! While he was golfin, I got to do some serious swimming and tanning, since I have done neither since
Cancun! O man, good times good times! I love swimming!!! The boys met us at the pool after their game and we played around for a while, Dixon did a jumping dive and Syd said "Wow, Dixon is GREAT!" It made me laugh! Our family celebrated Dixon's birthday with an oreo cookie ice cream cake and some fun presents! I've come to the conclusion that it feels so good to see family... I have missed them! (o, and if the pictures haven't given it away already, Syd and Dixon have become good friends, she always wants to be by him!)

Fun Fourth

What a fun Fourth of July! We finally made it to Kaysville after one hour of traffic from Salt Lake... but it was worth the wait! We got to sleep in on the 4th and my dad made bannana pancakes (for those of you who don't know, my dad is an amazing cook)! We then ventured off to the Kaysville parade, which consists of maybe one float and lots of advertisements, but lots of candy and family fun:) We then had a family bbq and went to stadium of fire. Stadium of fire was a lot of fun. We got to drive with Ky and her boyfriend, Randon...he's a nice guy and he makes her so happy. It was so stressful getting there, but once we were there we were able to relax a little. Syd sat with me and Dixon, and that was so much fun, Dixon made it so fun for her, I think she loves having an older brother. He is such a blessing in our family! Kenadee did so good in her dance! They worked so hard, they had practices on that field for three days straight... it was so fun to watch her do what she loves to do! We were her biggest fans... pretty sure of it! I loved the Blue Man Group... they only performed for maybe 20 minutes, but they left me wanting more, I would love to go to their show sometime! Miley Cyrus also sang, but I was a little disappointed cuz she only sang the songs that are on her upcoming album, so noone knew the words... bummer! But still so much fun! Thank you so much for letting us come play with you guys for the fourth we had so much fun, we love you!!!
