We are all ready for the Olympics at our house. We got a USA jersey and everything.

This is what his hair looks like when daddy does it.

The bottom stair.

It's a perfect place for a little bum.

And it's a perfect place for a little snack.

The boy loves cottage cheese. He gets giddy when I open the fridge and points to it and says "cheese".

That size lasts us maybe 5 days. Maybe.

It makes Dixon gag. I love it.

So far he takes after me. Evidence: his love for peanut butter, cottage cheese, and yogurt.

That's my boy!

I was on a walk the other day when I came across this license plate:

Made me think of my dad and lil bro. They only golf at oakridge every day the sun shines, the rain rains, or the winds howl. Which is Every. Single. Day.

Daddies should never leave town.
Because when daddies leave town, mommies and Sawyer's get sick.

Second time in a row this has happened.

Apparently we miss daddy so much it makes us sick.

Those sweet little things

Right now it's all about the little things lately that has been making me happy.
Like these chairs.

He tried them all out. One was too hard, one was too soft, and one was just right!

I laugh when I find this scene:

He loves his blocks and he loves dumping them out, and im weird and so enjoy picking them up because I know he loves dumping them out so much. We built a tower the other day that would have made you jealous. We used every single block!

Our sink has turned into his new basketball hoop. He shoots it. He scores 2 points. And then we do a victory lap around the island (you better believe I'm doing the victory lap with him going crazy with my arms in the air. Sawyer giggling like crazy) and then he asks me to get the ball out so he can shoot it again.

I walked out to my garden today to find this little beauty. Look closely, he's there just waiting to be noticed. It's a pea in a pod. That I grew. And so be it if it's the only one that grows, I'll be eating it with a smile on my face!

And that red beauty hiding, he's number four. That's right, I've grown four tomatoes. I think I'll just give myself a little pat on the back right now, I honestly didn't think I would ever be able to get something to grow here!

Life is good. We spend our evenings sitting in our chairs, listening to crickets, admiring the stars, and enjoying good conversation of self reflection and self evaluation/growth with the husband. I swear if unicorns exist they are in my backyard on these spring nights... It's my happy place, my heart anxiously awaits it.

I have been taking extra seconds to enjoy the strolls with my son and the sand in my shoes at the park. I notice the colors of the wildflowers more often, and enjoy getting on all fours and wrestling with my little. I take time to listen to the quick strides of my feet as I race against the setting sun on my evening jogs and actually look over my shoulder to see that beautiful sun set against the shadowed mountains.

It's all about the little things right now. And I am loving it.

I am spoiled this mothers day. I have so many deep thoughts that I want to put down on paper, but when I sit down all that comes out is. I love being a mom. I love it with every fiber of my being. I wake up excited to see my boy and don't go to sleep until I've checked on him to make sure he's in dreamland. I want for nothin more than to continue to love this little and be his mama.

Cranberry thyme crusted salmon and a sweet potato complete with diet coke from the husband. He knows me. He loves me. He spoils me.

And red velvet cake from my soy boy.

And my little. How I love every second with you.

My heart is full. I'm grateful for a mother and mother In law who teach me how to love with my whole heart, enjoy the journey, and teach me to be patient with myself. Without them, I would not be the mother I am today. I love you both dearly.

Thank you my sweetest boy for calling me mama and for my sweet husband who supports me in this divine role.

Hi there, can I wash your car?!

I promise to back the car out slowly, with the help of my dad

And then I'll just take this washcloth

And dip it in the bucket full of bubbles

And I'll scrub scrub scub!
Happy mothers day mama, I hope you enjoy your sparkly white car tomorrow on the way to church!
Love,
Sawyer

I've been loving this

She and him on pandora. It's my happy place.

And that music playing with this monkey running around is my bliss!

What do you get when you have an orange pail full of water and a Greek yogurt cup?

Answer: A whole lot of fun!!

And what do you you get when you have a rambunctious 17 month old boy?

Answer: A lean mean climbing machine.
I can't even get mad at him for standing on the chair because he's so dang proud of himself for climbing up on it.

Bottles just taste better when your standing on a chair!

Spring has sprung

Dare I say that Las Vegas is beautiful right now... Trees are in bloom in vicious hues of yellow, red, purple, pink, and orange. And quite frankly, I can't get enough of it. I take detour routes to and from the park just to take in the beauty of "spring" here.

I haven't alway felt this way. I used to think of Vegas as a sandbox that was always the same boring shades of tan and brown and hot as HEdouble hockey sticks. And I was ok with thinking that way because I was doggone determined to keep Utah as the most beautiful place on earth in my book. And while I love the beauty that is Utah, I am learning I love the beauty that is Las Vegas.

Sawyer and I sang popcorn popping as we passed this tree. Couldn't resist.

The boy learned how to do puzzles at the library. He loves them. Thank goodness, because we will be seeking the relief of their AC during our many summer outings to come.

Peek-a-boo my sweet boy.

Lately he loves to sit outside. By himself. With his snacks.

And we started the week of by swingin at the park. Notice the boy's watch. We seriously don't leave home without it!
