Goal Accomplished!

I have been wanting to run a half marathon for a while, and I finally decided to just sign up and train for it! I couldn't have chosen a more beautiful location, the whole race was overlooking lake mead, and i swear the race flew by because I was so overcome by the beauty of it all! I've been training for the past 6 weeks, and I felt prepared. I was so happy with my time: 1:51:02. I was so excited to see the finish line and see Dixon and Sawyer there cheerin me on. I was also so touched to see my boss there... She drove all the way out there with her son and made me a cute poster to cheer me on. And I had the support of our family! I couldn't have done it without their encouraging words! I had a blast, and am now toying with the idea of a full marathon. We'll see. For now I'll leave you with a few pictures... Notice the view of the lake in the background!

This is our cousin Kiersten, she was the one that motivated me to sign up! Love her and am so proud of her for accomplishing this big goal!

And this is the world's best boss, and the cute sign she made me. I feel so blessed to work for her!

This definately is the first of many half marathons! I seriously had a blast!

Daddy brrrmmmm

He can't wait till daddy comes home, he claps his hands and shouts for joy and climbs up on his knee, and takes the wheel! Sometimes we wait outside patiently waiting for daddy's arrival so that he can drive the car into the garage. It's a privileged life he lives.

He loves his dad's car... or as he calls it, daddy brrrmmmm. He points out every Hyundai that we see and says daddy brrrrmmmm. And he is seriously offended when we take my car instead of daddy's. We're talkin full on crocodile tears when we put him in my car and not dad's.

Punkins

October has been hot this year. I have been patiently waiting fall's arrival. And though our weather teased us last week with a little taste of fall, we are back to the high eighties. I have been trying to wait until I could feel fall's arrival to purchase our pumpkins, but I gave in today and purchased some. Sawyer chose a little pumpkin... just his size. He held it so nicely at the grocery store, and held it so nicely for pictures on our front porch, and then threw it so nicely and split it open. At least I got a few pictures first. I can't blame him, it looks kind of like a basketball all round and orange and screaming to be thrown.

Sawyer loves fire trucks. And by love, I mean he makes the fire truck sound randomly throughout the day. All day. Every day. So you bet I was so excited when the fire station next door put a sign up announcing an open house happening this past Saturday! Unfortunately I had to work, so it was a boys only outing. Dixon said he was so excited he didn't quite know what to do. I imagine the words "Holy Smokes" may have been running through his mind.

Here's the little firefighter enjoying the tour. Makes my heart so happy that they gave him a fireman hat.

Its a bird, it's a plane....

I'd like to introduce you to our super hero, Clark Kent. He made an appearance tonight at my company's Halloween festivities at Springs Preserve.

He sometimes turns into Super Sawyer, but tonight he was Clark Kent.

He learned how to trick or treat, and the balloon man made him a balloon poodle that looked just like grandma's dog, Rebel. He was so excited!

Pretty sure superheroes don't come much cuter than him. He loved trick or treating. He was ticked when we left. But then he gave some loves to his balloon poodle and all was well in the superhero's world.

Love my little Clark Kent!

We finally got some cooler weather, so we pulled out our hoodies and skinny jeans and enjoyed us some rain and fall weather! I forget how much I love wearing a sweatshirt. Got me some hot chocolate, listening to some old school Colbie Calliat, I have my fireplace app on my iPad glowing, and my big red sweatshirt on. Welcome fall, so nice to have you here. Please stay a while why don't ya!

Go Giants! They made us proud today with their big win!

Bookworm

Sawyer has always loved books. But as of lately he really really loves books. His favorite book right now is his animals book (i attribute this to my awesome sound effects) and his trucks book. We read each one at least seven times a day. Show me a picture of any kind of truck and I'll bet I can tell you what it is. Including a back hoe loader. I'm quickly becoming a pro at trucks, now sound effects for those trucks... That's a different story. I often find him like this.

This picture cracks me up, because I often find his dad in a similar position. Like father like son.

He's also become fascinated with letters. He knows a,e,i,o,s,m,b.

Smart cookie. I swear he came this way... I'm just trying not to mess him up!

Mt Charleston

It's been hot here. Like 100 degrees hot. I've tried to not get discouraged. My house is decorated in fall colors and I've been wearing my jeans despite the heat. My hot chocolate awaits the cool weather sitting patiently in my pantry. My recipes for soup are piling high as I wait for a slight break in the weather. I have been making pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, trying to convince myself that it is indeed fall.
But on friday I found myself craving cooler weather, craving the change of colors, craving a jacket. So when Dixon walked in the door I presented him with my genius plan: get some port of subs sandwiches and drive to Mt Charleston. I've heard of this mountain a few times, but have never been, and Friday seemed like the perfect day to go. Come to find out this mountain is only 20 minutes from my house and greeted me with 65 degree weather and beautiful hues of gold. My heart was so happy.

He was being so silly when I wanted to take his picture

Peek a boo... I see you!

Me and my honey.

Lyla even joined us on our spontaneous trip.

Love my boys. Love them with all that I have. They are buddies, and it melts my mama heart.
We may have to be visiting this mountain again soon. Like this next weekend soon;)

Sawyer found his old fedora today and was so excited to put it on! He came down from his nap so excited to show me his hat! And then he wanted to play with my iPad and when I told him that he could play with it later, he got so sad. Cue crocodile tears.

Nothing like some baby crocodile tears to make your heart hurt!

Oh my sweet Sawyer, I love you so much!
