Best friends

We have a morning routine. Wake up, call out "mama, mom, mommy, mama." Mom comes running gets boy out of bed, go say Goodmorning to daddy and then head downstairs to get lyla!

This boy loves his dog! And Lyla (affectionately called la la) is so good to let him carry her around. Best friends!

Teach me how to do the splits

At about 7:00 every night, Sawyer gets this crazy amount of energy. The kind where you would think we just gave him a liter of mountain dew. He runs around in circles, bangs his head into the couch over and over, flops around like a fish out of water, tantalizes Lyla by holding toys just out of her reach, and his favorite move of choice:
The splits.

In all my life, I don't think I've ever gotten this far in my splits. Not even after those ten years in dance lessons. Needless to say he doesn't get this talent from his mother.
We may have a little gymnast on our hands.

Shoe Thief

This boy takes after his daddy, he LoVeS shoes. He tries on shoes whenever he can, but he is partial to daddy's shoes. Because let's be honest, daddy has way cooler shoes than I do.

He just learned how to say "No!" the past week and I still think it's hilarious. For some reason, he loves to say, "daddy NO!!!" all day long. It's a good reminder to me that it must frustrate him to hear the word "no" all the time, so I'm taking extra precaution to try to explain myself when I tell him not to do something.
Oh this sweet boy, he's got me wrapped around his finger!

Saturday Traditions

Every Saturday I make homemade pizza and then we head to the park. It's my happy place. And now that summer is slowly (very slowly) coming to an end, our park dates are becoming even more enjoyable.

We have our favorite park that overlooks the whole valley. It's quiet and peaceful there. And the grass is in a larger portion than just a little square. It's our little family's tradition, and I love me a good tradition!

I've been in a little but of a funk. I've decided September is my hardest month in Vegas. My heart yearns to see my mountains changing colors and the crisp autumn mornings where the cool air nips at your nose. And since we really don't see leaves change and it doesn't start cooling down until October, homesickness always starts to settle in my spirit and I get in a bit of a funk.

I'll be back to my normal blogging self here soon.

Until then i'm gonna enjoy me some Saturday night traditions with my little family!

I'm behind on blogging. And I'm a bit overwhelmed because I have a LOT to blog about. Starting with our Utah trip, celebrating my birthday with my twin, and ending with a viewing of Wicked. But today is not the day for that post... That post is gonna take some time.

As for today, my boy and I celebrated a rain storm by heading to Target and walking the aisles singing "if your happy and you know it" and trying on hats and shoes. I love these outings with just my boy! I treasure them up.

He chose to wear his Rebel shirt today. He asks me to wear it everyday, but we compromise with once, maybe twice a week.

And I have to say, I was all kinds of excited when I saw these beauties on clearance in my size.

I just had to rescue them from the clearance bin, they are much too cute to not have a home! And they are comfy. Comfy and Cute and on Clearance!! The three C's that make my day!

Excuse the delay in posts we took an airplane to Utah.

We were stuck on the runway for 1 1/2 hours in the Las Vegas heat. We sat on our neighbors laps to look out the window at the lights, and we finally made it!

We are so happy to spend time with family.

My heart is so happy to be here.
